2018 Morton Ranch Makos

Welcome to the Morton Ranch Swim Team- MRST! We look forward to meeting you and working with your swimmer(s).We are a summer team offering instruction, training and competition to your swimmers ages 4 to 18.The swimmer must be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted. A test will be given the last week of May, and a partial refund may be requested at that time if the swimmer is unable to pass this test and is released from the team per the Head Coach.

Team History

The Morton Ranch Swim Team is a joint venture of the Morton Ranch and Westlake and Westlake Forest subdivisions to insure that all subdivisions will always have a swim team for their residents. It should be noted that other subdivisions are also encouraged to join. MRST is a member of the West Houston Aquatic League (WHALe).

Philosophy and Goals

MRST was organized to provide our youth the opportunity to participate in a quality competitive summer swimming program, which will provide personal growth, self-esteem, enjoyment, and introduce them to the life-long health benefits of the sport of swimming. The sport will be taught in a fun environment while nurturing a competitive attitude at the individual’s own rate.

MRST considers all swimmers as equal and integral members of our team. Our success is ultimately measured by how much opportunity we provide for the youth of our community and by how much their individual potential is maximized. The building of positive attitudes, healthy bodies, disciplined minds and enduring friendships are among the rewards our program strives to offer to those who join.

IF YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ATTENDING A SWIM MEET, NOTIFY HEAD COACH 5 DAYS PRIOR TO THE MEET VIA EMAIL TO .If you do not notify the head coach, it makes the day of the meet very hectic. Making changes on the heat sheet at the meet is confusing for all, and can cause errors in the team status for that meet. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

The head coach must be notified 15 minutes before the meet starts of any swimmers that have not shown up. No changes can be made after this time limit.

TIMERS - You will sit at the end of the pool and record swimmers times. Please arrive at the meet 15 minutes early before the swim meet begins to pick up stopwatches and clip boards. Children are not allowed with you at the end of the pool, but you will always have the best seat in the house!!.

STROKE JUDGE OR TOUCH-TURN JUDGE - Stand at poolside and watch swimmers for incorrect strokes, touch, or turns. Must pay close attention and attend a WHALe clinic to attain a 2-year certification prior to working this position.
